Pros: Great economics system, balanced play, lots of ways to win, large technology tree, great battle system, random maps. Cons: Capital is captured and you lose, game focuses on a lot of content so none of it is very "deep"", Natives are pushovers, you can only play Old World nations, no "cultural" side to the game.
Title says it all - a great, well-balanced, fun, but repetitive action RPG with an engaging enough story and good mechanics. All three of the classes are very different and have a lot of skills to choose from, there are multiple difficulty levels, and modding. If this had multiplayer it would get five stars.
The heroes are tons of fun, a lot of customization for a real-time strategy game. The factions are neat and all play reasonably differently. Unfortunately, the maps are stale and boring, and the real-time strategy part of the game is effectively "throw units at your enemy until they die." Get it if you like the idea of laying waste to armies with your powerful hero for a few hours, but don't expect much beyond that.
