Why? Why must nowadays every darn game force you to watch loooong-long, pointless videos? What if I just want to skip it, because I sat here to play, not to watch the same movie over and over? Oh, and it's not even because it loads a lot, because it then starts to load! 5-10 (!!!) minutes of load in a PC what runs The Division in ultraHD smooth! This will be a tendency? New Wolfenstein games, Serious Sam 4, and now this? Every new game will do the same?
Really, it was a nice game, Finished nearly everything, and liked most of the things. It is still 4/5 only, because of some things: -Why can't I run? Good portion of my played 60 hours was spent by walking, and doing nothing else. -I had the feeling, that it is not fully completed yet. At least I found a lot of questitemlike stuff, what I was not able to do anything with. Like a letter to the woman in the beginner village, who'se husband is agressive, and drunkard. And I found a letter on a corpse - presumably his corpse - but was not able tell her wife anything about this. Don't remember any other specific things, but I know I found some. -The safeplace is a nice thing to have, but tbh I used it mostly for mana refill, and to be a teleport hub. Tried to build a fancy house, but tbh I had no need for it while I played, and when I finished, I had just no intention to continue it. So it's not negative, but kind of pointless. Despite these, I can only recommend it to anyone who like isometric RPG-s with good story, nice riddles, and not with a feeling, that the whole game is one giant tutorial - yes, that means you need to find everything by yourself, only using your journal, and asking NPCs!
Okay, this game is the lovechild of Blood and Quake, spiced with some Painkiller. I have read the comments, where a lot of people mentioned tons of bugs, but I did not experience any - only stuck once, when tried to reach an unreachable part between cables, with the wallwalking bonus. Quite short tho, that's why I rated 4/5, I hope there will be more episodes later.
Still the king of multiplayer FPS games.
Didn't know that there is a separate version of warcrafts, not only the bundle. (I still find it a bit... overpriced tho.) Btw, Tides of Darkness was released on 1995.12.09., and the Beyond the Dark Portal on 1996.05.16, neither in 1999. Not a big thing, but please, correct it! :)
