The RTS portion is completely deficient of any polish or balance. You will wear down your LMB spamming fireballs to compensate for the UI not giving you reasonable control of your forces. The AI can out-produce you regardless of the strategic map state so don't think you can just get clever deploying your forces. The character dialogue between missions is charming, but beyond that the story connection to the franchise is fairly weak so don't feel like you'll be missing something by skipping this title. Despite attempting the crash fixes I found I could not overcome the technical problems and was unable to progress the story beyond a certain point.
Far as I know first-person RTS has yet to be done as well. Consistently paced gameplay with 5 slightly asymmetric factions. No base-building, excessive micromanagement like kiting, or other wasting of time are present. Refreshing considering how calcified the genre would become. The art design, and voice acting are excellent. Some of the events and information presented in the campaign is different based on choices made so it has decent replayability. Still runs great on 2020 hardware. Encountered a minor, but frequent bug where the camera may get locked into an awkward position following a cutscene. Largest gripe is lack of a difficulty option. The AI is a lot better than you generally. For example, there are several buff spells that can be cast as soon as they end, so while you are busy managing combat the AI is automatically doing that while maintaining their resources and units with machine precision.
The RTS mechanics seem somewhat unconventional and refreshing, if shallow. Everything else is phoned-in. Voice acting, dialogue, cutscenes, and UI are all trash. Buttons and commands will sometimes need to be issued repeatedly because it may not register. 2 years after release I still cannot get past the first 30 minutes without freezing during scripted events. In keeping with the cyberpunk theme the devs thought it would be fun to collect your data without consent. More details on the issue and their lack of apology or accountability can be found on the other store forum.
