I had way more fun with this than I thought I would. This game is SOLID. They took the best of both worlds, kept the nostalgia factor but also added modern features like decent mouselook, resolution handling etc. The level design is absolutely top notch. Levels are tight and keep you busy as expected on a fast paced shooter. Most of all, I think they nailed the difficulty really well. The game is challenging and fun without being punishing, with the exception of a couple of boss battles.
I'm not a big fan of life simulator games, and still this got me hooked, hook, line and sinker. Lots of polish, lots of small details and surely love for the original material. Some games makes you feel like the devs loved doing them, and this is one of those. One of the best small games I played in a long time.
The game is awesome but has a number of game-breaking bugs that may prevent you from finishing it. I managed to play it to the end but would recommend watching a "let's play" instead of buying. I gave it a two for the technical problems. The game itself deserves a 5.
