36 hours played 100% Achievement Game Recieved for FREE A reasonably challenging point and click adventure. In most cases finding your way forward can be done by paying attention to the dialog and right clicking on the "hot spots". Most of the "Hot Spots" are not overly hard to find, with a few here and there that are harder to find. There are a few achievements that are a bit "troublesome" requiring you to do "unnecessary" actions multiple (like 50 to 100 extra) times. And there was one "hot spot" achievement I could not get to pop playing with a keyboard and mouse - but hot spot would show up with a game controller. There was really no noticable difference in the "difficulty" settings other than the "support tools" being on by default in Easy. If you want to get 100% achievemnt status you must play the game a minimum of 2 times as the difficulty setting achievements do not stack. So really, just play the first on Easy and use the support tools... The story is very good (maybe a bit juvenile - but I think that was the target audience). The voice acting was quite good. The music wasn't distracting, was decent but not overly memorable. The graphics are "comic book" like, and quite well done and consistent throughpout the game. Highly recommend to any fan of point and click games - especially if you like "high fantasy". Suitable for younger audiences as well.
Puzzles were mostly good, but a couple that were a bit obscure to waste time on. Didn't feel the ending was very satisfying. Overall horror tone was definitely there, production was well done, but just can't say I was overly satisfied with the experience. A lot of rather grossness to it.
These were all great games to play and enjoy from start to end. An incredible amount of content for the time they were created and a masterful story telling feel. The one thing that seemed to be associated with the version downloaded for GOG were a few bugs in Ultima VI which I didn't encounter in the game from the original disks. Several times if Dupree died the game would stall saying "Not While On A Ship" and once our character turned into one of the Pushme Pullu images and was called Zeta... Also experienced winged gargoyles that could not be hit no matter your level / dexterity at some of the shrines. Most annoying though was that Lord British and nobody in the game recognized when the shrines had been freed - just glad it let me complete the game even though that trigger seemed to fail.
