To The Moon

Great story and music, meh gameplay

Terrible and pointless gameplay that serves more as a detriment to the story it is trying to tell then an enhancer. Make no mistake, this games is basically entirely story driven and is basically the only reason you should consider playing To the Moon. If you want something meaningful that has an extremely high potential for tears, this is your game. Easily one of the most emotional games I've ever played and one of two that actually managed to make me cry in over 20 years of gaming. I don't mean broken up or a bit misty eyed, I mean full on tears. It would be a disservice to explain what makes this game such an emotional experience, so if you have any interest in it whatsoever then I suggest experiencing it as spoiler free for yourself. The writing is very solid and the writers deserve credit for the style they use in which events progress backwards and we see things from the very end of a mans life moving backward. Make no mistake, this isn't something that could easily be pulled off with lazy writing and it is executed very well. The OST also deserves a shoutout. It's emotional when it wants to be, fun when it wants to be, even creepy when it wants to be.
