Been playing this for a while. I'm really glad the game is preserved and on GOG's back catolgue. That being said, this is easily the worse game out of the original four games from Team Silent. Story is mid, gameplay is boring most of the time with many "What do I do, where do I go" moments, the apartment itself is kinda boring and the things that happen around it. The game looks and sounds good, I'll give it that. Also, the limited inventory and some enemy encounters were actually neat concepts (don't want to spoil). Wish the game would have done more with those ideas. This even has full controller support that works relatively well. It's an okay game. Don't go into this expecting an amazing game. It's an okay survival horror game, and you know what? That's okay.
The game controls amazing, looks amazing, sounds amazing, and is amazing! But.. there are a few issues. When the game starts out, it's fast and fluid, but as you get further in, they introduce more and more enemies that take mroe time to kill. So, it becomes absurdly hard to avoid damage. But the biggest issue is no Momiji. LIke, you had a no name shrine maiden talking and doing stuff at the start? Like, WTF? Momiji is right there! She's the Dragon Shrine Maiden of the Hayabusa village and she's nowhere to be seen. To say I'm dissapointed would be an understatment. It's not like the story couldn't have her. You were LITERALLY in the Hayabusa village as it's buring down (again, yes, they need insurance.) and there's a no name shrine maiden there. So, I'll bump this up to five stars if you remove the noname shrine maiden and replace her wtih Momiji. Literally, that's all you have to do for me to bump up the score. My earlier critique be damned lol
