Tropico 6

Tropico - 6

No native map editor ruins Sandbox. All random maps are starfish shaped and hopeless as a result. No version of Tropico should ever be released without a map editor at initial release. It was the singular feature that made the 1st edition have longevity and built up the fanbase. This version also fails in the very fundamentals of economy, geology, and the history/culture of the Caribbean. It has a storybook concept of the area's culture told from a Eurocentric perspective, not the reality of the region. It's like the makers did nothing more than read coffee table books on the topic. The economics of manufacturing were created with zero conprehension of how it actually works. The same can be said about the geology aspects of the mining in the game. Several of the DLCs are so broken as to need to turn them off to have a positive game. Every aspect of the game is designed to conflict with another aspect on purpose to create tension and needless constant intervention, which condradicts the entire purpose of a builder sim. If you like other versions of Tropico then you might like this one, but if you just wanted a building sim this version will constantly aggravate you. Let's hope someone buys the IP from the current maker and give it the love it always deserved.
