It's what you would aspect from Monkey Island, although I'm not really a fan on how the story is framed, Good challenge for some puzzles, al nd even using the hint system is better if you are stucked instead of looking it online, as it just points you in the right direction instead of telling the solution. It's great, for those time consuming or really subtle puzzles. It seems the real game is hidden under the "writer's cut" option, I thought it included some extra talks as a sort of "behind the scenes" but I realised only after that is a wordplay on "director's cut" edition with movies, with extra dialogue and characters that improve the story. Enable it for the first run.
I was hyped since its announcement. Stay away from this game, the visuals make it literally unwatchable, it's hard to see enemies giving they are the same color of the environment (red), the game sometimes has painful slowdown for no reason. The slowdowns are room and visit based: you enter the room and it starts to stutter visibly, it won't go away unless you enter another room. Sometimes if you re-enter it doesn't stutter anymore. And imagine when that happens into the boss room, where you can't leave. You die, and must start the level from the beginning, and giving they are random generated, it's a different level, with different power-ups and everything. Oh, and you get variations like reduced gravity or slippery floor. That is nice, exactly what you need to play a game where movement seems important (that is sarcasm). Some power-up are also unreachable, I can't see how you can get to higher floors when you don't have stairs or something. It lacks of visual queues, like when you are out of ammo (you have to change clips, but they are infinite) and audio is not clear enough. Also it's not clear that you have to dodge how the game tells you, doesn't matter if you are outside of the ray shoot by the draugr: you have to dodge in the direction shown by the cross-hair (I think). Tip for developers: NEVER build columns into an FPS. You corner yourself thinking there is space to move, but you in fact you are in a corner between the wall and a protruding column and you are going to die. I don't know any other FPS that does this, except Halo (and it sucks). Maybe there is a reason why. I tried really hard, I wasted hours trying to find something good.
