Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories Digital Limited Edition

Very niche game / relaxing game

Disaster report is a very niche game. It does play and look like a PS3 game as far as i can tell and if you know about the tragic event which occured close to it's original release date you understand it's delayed release date. It even was unlickely to be released at all. I am glad the devs did everything they could to get their work out in the open. The game plays like a point and click adventure but in third person (you can play in first person!). Most mechanics in the game barely get used and only make you think what could've been if the devs would have been able to finish their work properly. Music is hardly beeing played in the game which makes you more aware of the disaster around you - if you let it. The story is simple (obviously you try to get into safety) but what made my experience with it really interesting was the imo realistic depiction of what (japanese?) people would say and do during a crisis like that. There are funny aswell as tragic events all over the place to mix things up a bit. Dialogue choices matter only every now and then. It is fun to see how the different responses and reactions play out between your and the other characters. I bought the limited edition on sale to get the OST and i am glad since there are a few relaxing tracks on it and i hope there will be a 5th installment (which was announced) some day and released on GOG. My advice would definitely be to watch some YT review videos and play the Demo before buying.
