I know there are updates, but the CM simulations are the best I know of for simulating tactical (battalion-level and below) combat in WWII. That means it can be pretty difficult. The interface is old--zooming is a pain--but it's still a lot more user-friendly than Advanced Squad Leader (the board wargame). I also wish there were a way to view elevations graphically.
This is a great step up from the original Medal of Honor: you now have squadmates that use fire and movement, and the enemy has AI that does the same. There aren't just health kits that automatically heal you; you can be healed by your team's medic a limited number of times. And there are other features that put you more into your character's shoes.
For me, this game has it all. The atmosphere is great and the artwork matches the 60's 'vibe' exactly. The dialogue is witty in a self-aware, campy kind of way. I love the controls; no need to keep one hand hovering over the keyboard. It's all done with mouse clicks and you might want some scratch paper. The puzzles are fun. They can be a little silly, but everything fits with the environment. It is somewhat short.
