I love this series of games, but MOW AS 1&2. Unit management is terrible (compared to previous games in the series). Capturing and holding points is a terrible decision for this series. Capturing and holding points is a great idea for Company of Heroes because you control a squad, not just one unit. And in COH you can do various buildings in contrast to this game. To kill an enemy unit with a rifle you must hit 3-4 times!!!! Srsly!? I do not even want to write about the machine... I think all the other games in the series (not counting MOW Condemned Heroes) were much better than these 2 (AS1 & AS2). MOW (2009) (5stars from me), FOW (2006) (5stars), MOW Red Tide (4stars) are my favorite games in the series. The only + of this game is mods. Pretty good game from the series. I played all parts of the Men of War. Most of them took place back in 2010 (MOW, MOW Red Tide, FOW, SHOWW2, and other parts missing from the GOG). And honestly, I like more MOW and MOW RT, but this is not the worst game in the series (the worst is Condemned Heroes, because there are bugs everywhere). In this game, we, according to the classics, play for Germany, the Allies, and the USSR, with 8 missions for each of the parties. Although this game is not my favorite from the series, I give this game 5 stars, because it deserves it.
This is my favorite game from the series, not counting Men of War ( 06.06.2009). In the game we will play for the Black Sea Fleet. The struggle for the Black Sea against the Romanian, Italian and German fascists. But in this game we can only play for the Red Army. I spent 33 hours to complete this game. I think you can do it faster if you don’t spare every soldier like me. I really liked the fact that in this series of games there are a few mistakes (you understand me if you played in parts like Vietnam and Condemned Heroes). As a result, we have 23 interesting missions. I like in the games of Men of War that developers implement many historical battles (and only in this game can we play for Leonid Brezhnev!) I recommend this game > 4 stars from me. (I didn't want to hurt anyone with my review.)
I love this game with all my heart! I bought a license for a CD in 2010, then on Steam (2014), then on GOG (today)! I think this is the best WWII strategy game ever. This is my favorite game in the series (2 in the series - MOW Red Tide. In my review, 4 stars from me). I like in the games of Men of War that developers implement many historical battles. In this game we have 24 interesting missions. 9 missions for the Red Army, 5 missions in the hot desert for the army of Rommel, 5 missions in the hot desert for the Allies and 5 bonus missions. I spent 36 hours to complete this game. I think you can do it faster if you don’t spare every soldier like me. I really liked the fact that in this series of games there are a few mistakes (you understand me if you played in parts like Vietnam and Condemned Heroes). I recommend this game! 5 stars from me!
