Dink Smallwood HD

Maybe this is a Secret...Maybe not.

Ignore my 5 stars- That's not a personal reflection of my experience with the game, that's just because I haven't played it as long as I would have liked before reviewing to give a thorough and valid opinion. ---------------------- So, as per my usual, whenever I start a game for the first time, I look at the options BESIDES "New Game"....sometimes you find secrets that way. I think I might have found one. So, I pressed "Load Game" and to my surprise, in the "auto-save" last file, there was a game file already saved. I loaded it and played around a bit, and found I was already level 15 and in some place resembling hell...there was what seemed like a time machine or dimension machine, and to my greater surprise, a series of stairs that lead you down to a hell-plain, where some dude lays half dead, and upon talking to him, you engage in a boss fight with some dude named Seth. So, out of context all of this seemed super Easter-Eggy to me, (I've never played the game before) but with a little research...I realized...This was the final boss fight in the game, and the game creators name is "Seth". The developers, for whatever reason, made it possible to skip the entire game, and just kill the final boss, if you load the game instead of playing new, for the first time after instillation. That...to me... is wicked cool. And I love little Easter Egg things like that. So, this game clearly has some "hidden gem" moments. As a current game, in the year 2022, it looks and feels very old and very dated and very ...eeeh. But, I do applaud the creativity of those who made the game and the little things they added to it. That is more valuable to me then up to date graphics or gameplay. For those interested in the game, its free, no harm in trying it. I think, for the right person, this could be an amazing game.
