Spelunky

Tough Love

Spelunky is a completely crazy rougelike/2D platformer game. Whole point of this game is to beat 4 main levels with 4 floors each and to possibly get as much gold as you can. Every level have different enemies, layout and traps. Death is permanent and with every death you start in completely different place, because floors are generated randomly. During your journey you can collect a lot of interesting items that will help you out like bombs, ropes or a more rare like compass or shotgun. It sounds pretty simple but it is not. Spelunky is insanely difficult game and I mean it. You will die because of enemies, traps, bad luck or your own bad ideas (like jumping on a carnivorous plant as this humble reviewer). Even after 100 deaths you just want to play more. It is so incredibly enjoyable that it won't bother you that you just died and have to start over again. Often you will just be laughing at how you died. Besides single-player mode you can also play deathmatch with bots or friends or just play co-op. The biggest disadvantage is that with no internet connection needed to play this game you cannot use Leaderboards or Daily Challenges and this may be a huge flaw for more competitive players. Music is nice, graphics are just like on the screenshots so only thing that is left for me is to recommend Spelunky with my whole heart. It is addictive, insanely hard but most importantly incredibly fun game!
