Game doesnt pass the time check in terms of UI and gameplay. It also has technical issues of not working without you, the buyer, having to manually change stuff. Guys at GOG did a very poor job at making the game atleast playable.
Quick and snappy review. EA's attempt at making its own PoP. A failed one. Classic console menu, with exit button somewhere off the screen. Perfomance issues. In mission 3 my fps dropped down to 20 for no reason. And thats for a 10+ yo game. A bad port, with all of the bad m&k response. Fake freedom of choosing betwen fighting and running away. At least 3 times i had to engage security to continue. Story is meh, but i didnt expect much. Sometimes very hard to tell where you're supposed to go. Movement itself is there smooth, until a ladder. You would imagine a parkour master to be more agile in climbing ladders and not wasting 2 minutes. Looks great when its not blinding you. Cool aesthetic. Music is neat, but sometimes it just stops playing. Over all, great idea, ruined by poor execution.
Where are the damn shurikens, Klei?! This isnt a ninja game without shurikens! Atleast you do play as ninja, in a ninja game, alright. And as a ninja, apart from not owning a shurikens, you have alot of stuff to play around. Smoke bombs, mines, insanity darts, even the bees. A nice set of different suits for different playstyles. A nice artstyle to follow up on the whole ninja theme. Not much to say on the sound or story though, pretty generic. Also PC controls just feel weird, when you need to jump off something and you simply cant. An experienced assasin and scout cant jump off the sides of buldings. The Derpinja. Overall, a good stealhboy game, that doesnt present you with anything new, but it just works well. Apart from controls. And lack of shurikens.
