I got this original back in the days on CD, played it on my 166mhz machine.. this works just as well, and my 240hz OLED wonders what it is suppose to do with me! Great chillout game!
With windows 11, keyboard does not work, rendering this masterpiece of a game useless
The realisme, that these games are famed for, is somewhat lacking. If you tell a fire team to let hell opon the enemy, well, they kinda, just like, "nah.. "I rather not.." and they deside to sit tight.. Sims 2 is more tactical than this! In CC5, they don't, in CC5 they act like trained soldiers, and fight like it, so you can fight in a proper tactical battle.. unlike this game. You: "Lets get an advantage, by getting the enemy suppresed when we advance" Your soliders "Lets not!"
Having played Warhammer Total War 2, and kinda fell of that train, I wanted something same, but something different... sort of (To get it to work on laptop, I had to rightclick on desktop, and enter nvidia panel, and put the main graphic card as default, and remove the option for it to chose the motherboard card.) Gameplay is good.
Expected somethinh like Lord of the Realm 2.. but nope.. If Lord of the Realm 1 is a pizza with lots of stuff, Lord of the realm 2 is a pizza, still great but with less stuff in it, then Lord of the realm 3 is a peace of bread with cheese on it, and maybe some ham if you are lucky. It lacks tons of stuff that the other games had.
It must be one of the greatest WW2 games I ever played, All those units. Commanding Panzer I in 1939, and a Pz5 Panther with the same crew fighting the Russians on the border of Germany with a whole new experience.. Very few flaws in this game..
