Worms W.M.D

Great worms game

The gameplay is really fun and all the creativity, I just wish the art style was a little bit more like the older worms, but this is a unique take with nice reflecting water and some nice new graphical effects. Performance is also great.

Quake II

Awesome remaster for an ID classic

This is a brilliant remaster of ID Software's Quake 2 by Nightdive Studios with an awesome collection of many of the concept drawings and even the 3D Model sprites. The GOG version also has satisfying achievements and I prefer this modern rasterized version over the Ray Tracing version. Jacques

Corridor 7: Alien Invasion

Awesome classic game

I have a lot of nostalgia for this game, I first saw it when I was about three years of age. It is basically uses the Wolf3D engine but has its own theme and improved graphics.

SWAT 4: Gold Edition

Best tactical police simulation

This game has a special place in my heart, played the demo through NAG Magazine DVD and still stays my favourite tactical police simulation experience. Ready or Not is a perfect spiritual successor to this game, but SWAT 4 is always worth having in my opinion.

Hard Reset Redux

Awesome first person shooter!

I am giving it a five star, because there is barely anything this game does wrong. The atmosphere and music is awesome, the graphics and destruction on enemies is awesome with unique blood effects depending on the enemy type. In addition, the lighting and bump mapping looks great; not to mention, the weapon upgrades keeps you intrigued.

Worms W.M.D

One of the best Worms games

At the beginning I was sceptical to purchase this Worms game mainly because the worms look slightly different from Armageddon, but I am really glad I bought it with the recent ~90% discount on GOG. Team 17 really recaptured the essance of Worms in this game back to the Worms 2/Armageddon days; in addition, the shader and sound effects are awesome with rocks falling into the ocean, the american baseball tone playing when you smack a worm for a homerun into the ocean. Moreover, the GOG achievements add a nice rewarding feeling to the game, I was planning to buy on Steam but wanted the extra pre-order skins on this version and the DRM free experience of GOG. I commend Team 17 for this release with an awesome campaing that has challenges for every mission. I definitely want to play through this game.

Hitman: Blood Money

Great Hitman game

I own the game on Steam and retail DVD and I would like to reply to "beefkd"'s review. The brightness issue is related to Nvidia drivers themselves and not GOG, as I have tested the latest Steam version on a Radeon RX 480 and a Nvidia GTX 1060 and the first person brightness issue only occurs on the Nvidia GPU. Furthermore, since I have been aware the AI can track you with 100% accuracy all over the map, especially the AI that have been made aware of your cover, which is unfortunate yes, but this is not unique to GOG. Personally, I am disappointed with the fibre wire animation not struggling in the victim's hands as shown on the back-cover of the retail DVD cover, but other than that it is mostly a great game.

Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition

Game is great quality, -micro stutters

This game makes for a great sandbox experience, and has a lot of effort put into it. In addition, it is more refined than Dead Island DE. In contradiction, I must admit that the game has frame-pacing issues on certain combination of systems which results in periodic micro stutter; for example, on my FX 8350 it had this issue even though the frame-rate was higher than 60FPS, but on my i7 870 and Ryzen 5 5600 it does not present this issue. It might be that the game initially configures itself for SMT systems or Physical Cores when installing it for the first time.

Quake 2 Enhanced - Music working again!!

I would like to start of by saying "Night Dive Studios" is the Kings & Queens of remastering and remaking games. I have bought Forsaken, Doom 64 and System Shock remake and they are all great. Furthermore, I own Quake 2 on Steam and the full version here on GOG and I must say I am super thankful for this amazing remaster, "Night Dive Studios" have given new life to this game and the music is working again. In addition the self-shadows and dynamic shadows on everthing looks amazing and "Night Dive Studios" shows that amazing graphics can still be crafted with plain rasterization!

Empire Earth 3

Better than the negativity states

Firstly, I am mostly unaffected by the nostalgia of the first two games like most of the reviews here are, I only played the demo of Empire Earth when it released on our country local magazine nag.co.za and I remember liking the demo. My major complain with this game is performance, the FPS drops are hard when setting the graphics to the quality preset, even on my moderate high-end system (i7 870 OC'ed to stable 3.9Ghz and Radeon RX 480). This game only runs on a single CPU thread/core, but I can atleast say the performance in the campaign is generally better than in the 2nd & 3rd tutorials. Then on Graphics, from an eagle eye view the graphics is overall pretty good on quality mode with Anti-Aliasing also enabled. What I prefer in this game over Age of Empires 3 is the blood spray/spatter, it makes the war feel more real than AOE3, and there are some cool graphical effects like sand-storms in North-Africa, and Europe has like rain and thunder. Texture detail also looks good on the Quality Preset, the only graphics that look average are character shadows and the character models are a bit more fantasy than realistic, almost WarCraft3-like. I find the voice acting pretty entertaining although repetitive when traveling large areas of the map. In conclusion, don't be shy to purchase it on sale, the developers did try something unique and it is worth trying, although performance does get frustrating. I am considering to pay EE1 & EE2 earth on this 66% sale as well.
