Starts out Great, gets old Fast

When I played the original short game, I fell in love with it. I was very weary at first upon hearing someone was making a bigger and expanded version, though. Partly cause I was afraid they would add unnecessary things which would bump up the system requirements, but also because I had the feeling they would not remain true to the charm of the original. Turns out my feelings were well founded, as the final product not only comes off as mediocre, but performs terribly on my computer. The Diablo-esque section was overloaded so badly by the sheer number of enemies on screen it dropped to less than 1 FPS which is inexcusable. I ended up having to leave the game unfinished because of this. As others have also pointed out, performance in other areas is also dodgy, especially involving hit detection. The little nods and homages to older video games are quickly replaced by full blown attempts to ape them entirely. One town in particular just pretty much screams "Hey guys, remember that one town in FFVII? Remember this character? Remember that airship? CHECK IT OUT GUYS!" There is no subtlety whatsoever.
