This game got rushed way before it was finished. The main story is what you would expect from a 10-15 hour rail shooter. Way to short, almost no meaningful choices, shalow and plot holes so big you could drive an aircraft carrier through. And you can't really play on after you finished it. The list of missing promised features is too long for a review, there are lots of threads in the forums anyway. You can't even change your hairstyle after character creation. The world as such is well built. The world of Cyberpunk and Night City are beautiful to look at - as far as the horrible performance, flying npcs or raining cars let you enjoy it. I could play this game on medium settings without raytracing. Looked well enough and really enjoyed the first hours of the game. Takes a while to notice how shallow it really is. Didn't have any crashes or gamebreaking bugs. So if you don't have outdated hard- and software (like Windows 7 or an Windows 10 - build from before 2019) you should be able to play it - at leasst on pc. Worth 60 €? Well there are worse games, but don't expect anything as big or immersive as The Witcher 3.
In contrast to some other reviews i think that the story is ok. There are a few great plot twists, and the companion stories (i had sebille, fane, ifan and lohse in my party) were also at least interesting, some were really great (especially the sebille and fane story lines imho). Where this game really fails is the item and the crafting system. With every levelup all the items you have get useless, because the new items on your new level are just that much better, and every enemy is based on those values. But the game does only throw sh*t your way - even with lucky charm (imho absolutely mandatory) you will almost never get an item which favors your playstyle or your character builds. And don't get me started on the quest rewards ... The other problem is the crafting / food system. Just too much stuff with too little use. In the end i spent around 60+ % of my playtime managing my inventory and had to force myself to actually play this game to the end. I gave up on it some years ago and would not have spent the time were it not for COVID-19.
A fair price for a season pass. Some so-called "AAA" game studios would charge as much for the changed color on a single texture :) I hope the story of Henry will continue in KCD 2. Thank you for delivering a great non mainstream game, which had a difficult start but was always worth my time.
