Pharaoh™: A New Era

Looks okay, otherwise a downgrade

The good: Unlike many others, I don't have a problem with the graphics. The game looks nice and runs smoothly, and the soundtrack is great. These are the things that save this game from a one-star review. The bad: The UI is horrible. Some of it I can forgive and could propably get used to, but mostly it is a downgrade from the original game. There's no minimap so navigating the larger maps is a pain in the ***. Also, right click does nothing, for some reason only one mouse button is used And the biggest let down is the combat. It was pretty clunky in the original so it should've been easy to improve. Instead it has been removed completely. When an enemy army attacks, you get a pop-up window for an auto-battle where your army and the enemy's face off in an empty field doing basically nothing until you click "continue" which finishes the battle and gives you a result screen. There's no way to affect the battle in any way. It feels like some horrible idle game. If you are a fan of the original, this remaster is definitely not worth your money.
