My first entry into Legacy of Kain was watching my brother play Blood Omen 2, but the first one I really played was Soul Reaver, and it was mesmerizing seeing how good the game looked for being on PS1, from the intro cutscene to the ending. Cut to over 20 years later, and Soul Reaver has never looked so good. Not even the unofficial HD texture mod made SR1 look this sharp and clean, with completely redone 3D models with all new animation. I didn't think the intro cutscene could look even better, but they touched that up too. For better or worse, it plays mostly the same with some quality of life additions like a compass, map, and interaction indicators. To its credit, I wouldn't have changed much else and am very happy with these additions. As a nice little bonus to honor the game's history, there's an interactive museum of sorts where you can explore the incomplete lost levels from a time in development where Soul Reaver almost had a totally different ending. Overall I'm very pleased with this package, and I'm hoping this does well. I'd absolutely love for Legacy of Kain to be back.
