After the superlative MOO2, the space empire games have carved a great following and for good reason. They are genuinely enjoyable and shock horror playable games. Space empires IV may lack the visual fidelity of V (my personal favourite) but it also lacks some of the colossal micro management V had. Something which would kill MOO3. If your playing 4X games then Space empires IV is a must in you collection. Deceptively simple at first but actually quite deep and challenging. Superb.
