There is a reason the Might and Magic series was synomous with PC RPGs during their peak and this is arguably the peak of the Might and Magic series. There are some things that Nostalgia can't fix though, this game does have extra steps just to get the game playable. The controls are weird and not as easy to remap into controlls that are more inline with what we're used to nowadays.
