Darksiders Genesis

very fun and humorous! :D

i'm a recent fan to the franchise, but this one (while being different than previous titles) is very enjoyable in its own right. it's more of a top-down brawler/twin-stick shooter than an rpg, but still very good. the art is phenomenal and i can't get enough of the dialogue between characters. i see some reviews saying it's too short and that's super disheartening bc i'm a few hours into it and i am *hooked* for more. you should absolutely get this game, i think it'd be cool to play over and over.

Hard Reset Redux

very pleasantly surprised :3

admittedly, a gog sale impulse buy for me (i don't believe i'd have gone out of my way to pay the standard twenty buck price tag for this without a youtube review like i normally do), i really did grow to love the game and its presentation. i'm only a couple of hours into it so far, but the overall feel and atmosphere of this fps is really engaging and satisfying just to watch unfold before you. the cutscenes that flesh out the story are done in a neat modern comic book style with fabulous artwork. the voice acting in it is well done and not cheesy in my opinion. goodness knows that if the voicing comes off as cheesy or poorly performed, it gives the game an absurd or campy feel. i've played a couple fps's before and hard reset redux feels like a cool fusion of the newer wolfenstein games and blade runner. very dystopian/cyberpunky and i'm here for it. :-) i missed out on the original release, so there's no way i could honestly compare/contrast it with that version. i see some reviews that paint this game a little unfavorably becuase they *have* played the og one. anywho, the guns are very satisfying to pew pew the robot baddies with and the gameplay gets tense and almost spooky what with a bunch of murderous robots racing at you in a poorly lit industrial-type environment, lol. i think you should get it, it's very fun.

Star Wars™: Jedi Knight™ - Jedi Academy™

A Personal Favorite! :D

While I don't have the GOG digital copy, I still have the discs I bought for my old XP computer many years ago. From time to time, I re-install it and remember how good this game was. My school friends all loved KOTOR, but Jedi Academy was my jam. As a long-time STAR WARS fan, I was blown away with the first and third person lightsaber action. The gameplay is fluid and natural- for me it leaves little to be desired. There are plenty of missions and a moral choice systems that determines what force alignment you end up as. You should totally get it if you like STAR WARS even just a little bit.

STAR WARS™ Republic Commando

Fantastic Star-Wars-Flavored FPS!

Never got to play this on XBOX, so I bought it as soon as I saw it was on GOG. It looks great and plays very nicely. Squad-based first person shooter; you blast baddies and droids and give your team instructions to cover for you and handle other small tasks. Super cool. The lazy review is: Star Wars in a Halo skin. I don't think there's another title in the Star Wars video game catalog that is more deserving of greater mainsteram appeal and/or a sequel. :) Go ahead and get it!
