This is one of the best flight sims ever made. Sure X-Wing came first, but the Rebellion is for wimps. Real men fight for the Empire! This game was about fantastic gameplay and a good storyline. X-Wing Alliance went a bit overboard with story telling, but this game has the right amount. It never feels too linear and there is a lot of background information during the missions and in the pre flight briefing. A must have for any Star Wars fans or Flight Sims and definitely a must have if you are a fan of both. Now we just need the rest of the series(X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance).
I remember this game fondly. It was complex, but it didn't take me long to figure it out. It had a lot of problems when it was first released, but they have mostly been corrected with the official and unofficial patches. This game is very easy to mod and it is a lot of fun figuring it out. I never understand why their was so much negativity for this game. I still played it years after release, because it's one of the best strategy games I've ever played. It is definitely worth playing.
