The Journey Down Trilogy

The journey down trilogy.

First I was astonished what kind of potheads the protagonists were. There were stupid and absolutely irresponsible. I thought that they were high, but then I realized that they are very young. They can't be older than 15 years old. This game makes lots of comedy of their behaviour and is actually one of the better comedy adventures. It reminds me Full throttle and Monkey island games mostly in a good way. Puzzles are good and mostly easy when you learn the game logic. The only annoying puzzle was finding the battery for the truck. It wasn't the car battery, but toy battery. Monkey wrench in Monkey island wasn't funny and this pun wasn't either. The good think is that the game isn't completely linear, so you can solve several puzzles at the same time. The bad think is pricing. 35€ for this? The makers of this game are out of their mind. With that price tag this game should be AAA title and it is not. If you can buy this for 15€ or cheaper it is worth it, otherwise it is not.

Lamplight City

Lamplight city

There isn't any inventory puzzles. Sometimes you have to read your case files or books, but that's it. If you have the right item, it will be used automatically. Some dialoque choices are crucial. Sometimes it is the best option to NOT to say something, sometimes it is the best option to lie and sometimes it is the best option to tell the truth. It should be quite logical what to say, so if you fail the dialogue check in this game, you probably fail it in the real life too. Some reviews think that it is the design flaw, but I don't think so. If you fail the dialoque check, you have no-one but yourself to blame for it and this game do the right thing to punish you for it. Some people seems to think that this game should be solvable no matter what, but this game trusts karma. If you end up sleeping in the gutter, jail or mental hospital, you have earned it. There are 5 cases and I found them to be mostly good, except case 3. Sherlock Holmes this is not, but at least it better than Ben Jordan, paranormal investigator.
