Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition

Diablo 3.25

It's a complete copy of Diablo 3 but worse in many small ways and technically unsound. I had to restart 6 times to be able to interact with menus AND be able to move my character. Just go play Diablo 3, if you must have this kind of ARPG experience. Or, better yet, go play an actually good ARPG like Grim Dawn.

STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

The more things change...

I remember playing Empire at War with my friends at LAN parties. We would sit in the pool house at a friend's place and spend hours renaming exe files, downloading and recombining patches, reconfiguring our memory, changing monitors, cables, and compatibility mode settings, get sick of it, then go play Savage-Battle for Newerth instead. Good times. Bought it on sale here on GOG and am very glad to see nothing has changed. Now, I'm off to go play some other game that will actually run and cherish my memories of my childhood.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall

UX design shoots it in both feet

Great concepts and ideas, all wrapped around a combat system that could have been fun, but REALLY REALLY ISN'T. The game hides information from you in many ways, meaning that you never have all the pieces needed to make a decision. This leaves the player feeling enraged and out of control when the AI, yet again, makes a completely bullshit move that 'should have been impossible' only to find out that, yeah, that was totally possible but you had to look on four different screens and do mental math while retaining the values from each screen separately in your mind to determine that the range of that one ability was actually enough because the line of sight ETC ETC ETC I liked my experience with it except for the combat, but the combat is the whole point.
