Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient

but a foretaste for things to come ...

Okay, I loved the first Corpse Party Game. The second one - Book of Shadows - was sort of okayish - to much of a VN for my taste. And I really enjoyed Blood Drive - so ... what about Dead Patient? Urgh - as much as I hate to say it ... the game left me hanging in the air by the end. Just, when the story became really interesting, it simply ends. And until now - there´s no news when a new chapter will release. And we should keep in mind, that Chapter One was released in Japan back in 2013. I really, really hope, that there is more to come. What to say about the game itself? Well, if you´ve played Blood Drive, then you can expect more of the same - at least gameplay wise: outrun (stupid as heck) zombies, solve (way to easy) puzzles, and first of all: enjoy the superb atmosphere. The atmosphere - I can´t help ... it doesn´t feel like a Corpse Party game. It much more reminds me of Silent Hill - don´t know why. And as usual: sound and music are really, really neat ... i´d say most of the atmosphere is thanks to the sound design. Sadly, that doesn´t apply to the voice acting. While Corpse Party and Blood Drive had full VA, this one has only a few sentences and words. I really hope, that following chapters will improve in this. I still like the game, but first of all, I hope that Chapter 2 won´t need 6 years to surface.

Raptor: Call of the Shadows 2010 Edition

A classic, but this versions hurts

I loved Raptor back in the day. I played the old shareware version over and over, so, when I saw this "2010 Version" it was clear as day, that I was going to get it. Then came the rude awakening. The awesome soundtrack had been a low rendition version of the midi soundtrack, the graphics had been mangled with some sort of filter and the controls suffer some sort of lag, that make it almost unplayable. You´re better off with the Dos Version, I fear.
