I bought this game with no knowledge of the story, board game etc. went in blind. Just that it had adventure/RPG elements combined and so I gave it a shot. I honestly wanted to give this game 5 stars during the first scenario, because story is the most important aspect to me -- but after actually playing it awhile I can only give it 2 stars until I see patches are made. Favorite parts- Story, voice acting. 5/5 Okay with but not happy about- Visuals, camera, controls (I prefer PC-style controls when playing a PC game) 2.5/5 The weak points/nightmare-Game-breaking bugs: Some of the bugs I've encountered is reading a bookcase and it gave me the description of a door. And one of the worst ones is that I got trapped by my own party members in a corner and lost my save progress. 0/5 Hope to see a patch come out.
I sometimes wish I could still enjoy a good SNES RPG like I did in early 90's but let's be honest those games are very outdated. I don't have the patience for them as they don't have modern day controls and features I come to expect. This game has totally fulfilled that nostalgia for me but feels more modern. As for dungeon crawlers, I normally played them for a little while and then got bored. This one has kept my interest. I give it 5/5 because I feel like the game delivers what it promises and I got my moneys worth out of it.
First off, I've never played this genre until now. The game actually gave me the same "need to survive" feeling the old Oregon trail game did. No crashes, bugs or glitches yet. I found the instructions well written. Tooltips and UI are modern. Controls make sense. At first the game seemed to be boring. But the snow set in, my people were suffering and a group of bears went on a killing spree. (Sad for my tribe, but at this moment I was glad I bought the game) I am investing technology in domesticated dogs, hope it will help protect me next time.
