Cleo - a pirate's tale

wonderful little game

This is such a charming game! Loveley characters, entertaining story and excellent voice acting. The puzzles were not that challenging, but still gave me a feeling of achievement when solving them. (and I really liked the Kraken Fodder card game - printing the card set as I write ^^) My only complaint is the controls. I love my pointing and clicking, moving with keys and only beeing able to interact with objects when Cleo is close enough is just not my preffered UI.

Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard

retro delight

The game is a delightful throwback to the goldes age of adventure games. But it doesn't just revel in good memories, it stands on its own two feet with its own story and its unusual and endearing characters. All of which get their little backstory and were brought to life by some excellent voice actors. The gameplay is quite classic. Select verbs to interact with the enviroment, rightclicking provides a context sensitive choice. You can die, with nice little animations reminding of the Sierra classics. An autosave feature spares you the trouble to start from the beginning. Manual saving is also possible. The puzzles are not on the easy side, but all logical. One time based puzzle was not to my liking but thankfully a button to skip this passage saved me from loosing my temper ;-) So all thumbs...er... hooves up for this wonderful gem!

Röki

Charming and touching

Beautiful artwork, enganging and emotional story full of scandinavian myths. The reduced voiceacting took me some time to get used to, but it can be shut off entirely if that's not your cup of tea. The puzzles offer a surprising variety, especially in the later chapters of the game.

Great game

The artsyle may not be for everyone, but I loved it. Charming characters, brought to live by wonderful voice actors, and an intriguing storyline: part detective story, part comedy that made me smile a lot and sometimes laugh out loud. The puzzles - for me the core of a p&n - are sometimes challanging. In a good way. I got stuck several times, but never hopelessly so. You can find hints if you pay attention and the solution felt always logical. Fun and satisfying to figure out some of the trickier ones. Great work, Pirita Studio!
