A game like they don't make them anymore
It feels like a classic adventure game right out the era of Broken Sword 1 or Monkey Island 2 (not surprisingly these were insirations for the game amongst many other), but with modern features, cleverly integrated so they are there when you need them (like a hint system) but don't spoil the fun of figuring out things for yourself.
There is so much to love here. The graphics are top notch, with special case animations in abundance. Some of the animations are a bit stiff, but with so many of them who can blame the animators for cutting corners. The soundtrack is awesome, especially the interactive song! The voiceacting is next to perfect and some of the lines made me laugh out loud. The story is isn't super-deep, but keeps you engaged and Murphy is a truely likable hero. The puzzles weren't too hard, but challenging enough to give you a good feeling after solving them. That sweet spot is hard to hit, but they did it.
What a year for adventure games this is!
