I played this game on Steam first. Played for about 30 hours and gained every achievement, completed every side quest. I really enjoyed myself in the world scavenging for parts, scraps & money in the form of "trade materials". Rather than a tense or claustrophobic experience, most of the gameplay is set in the atmosphere of the Future War everyone saw in the first two Terminator movies, with the remainder consisting of indoors, usually close-quarters combat with enemy machines and Terminators. The first thing you need to know is that the game is slow to start, so it'll take some time to settle in. If you're a big fan of Terminator, especially the first two films, this shouldn't be an issue because Teyon has filled the game with plenty of easter eggs from the first two movies, so you should really feel like you're in that Future War that served as the backdrop. The second thing you need to know is to not play at anything below Hard mode, if even that; I played at Extreme difficulty, and even that isn't too punishing if you know what you're doing. At that difficulty you can expect to be taken out by a T-800 in a matter of seconds after it sees you. If you're in a building with doors and you try to run behind one, it will break the door down and kill you. Lastly, you can maintain the difficulty by only spending skill points on what you need: if you avoid putting any in Stealth, Toughness, or Weapons, then the game will be at it's most challenging. Even then, you have a lot of options to arm yourself between finding guns and ammo on the map, finding items to craft into ammo or explosives, or use your sum of "trade resources" to buy anything you need are your home base. This is very much a customizeable game experience save for your player character, given that he is a main character in the plot with a specific role. It's not up to modern FPS standards and leaves much to be desired, but it's nevertheless the most enjoyable Terminator experience in decades. Enjoy!
