The game is a step up in every way tbh, but I still have a love/hate relationship with it. Graphically the game is a massive upgrade over the previous title, voices, sound, even story are pretty well done. Tho by comparison the story is a lot weaker, but what can be done with already explored territory right? It's still a good story for a trek game, and an FPS in general tbh. Gameplay even got some interesting tweaks and a couple new weapons with more alt firing options My biggest complaint has always been this game came at a time when enemies in games went from running, dodging, and ducking while shooting at you. Despite being rather dumb doing it all they were enemies that fought. They became in most games, hoards of mindless zombie like enemies that suicide rush you. And this game was no different. Most enemies are just weird bug things that run up to you wildly in numbers. Basically every game wanted its "Flood" after halo was a success. But none actually encapsulated what made the flood a good enemy. EF2 is no mold breaker for that. Overall its a great game for a series without many great games. And one that I honestly hope one day will be revisited. Be it just a simple remaster of the original games, or an all new title set within the newer series maybe. whatever. But it's all wishful thinking these days with movie/tv show tie in games always wanting to be canon to the source content because execs and such can't wrap their heads around the concept of EU's anymore.
