Gothic 3

Finally able to play through it!

I added only 2 mods, the update of the community patch (Update Pack 1.04) & the parallel universe patch (v1.0.5). Thanks to GOG & the Community for making this possible! Back in the day I bought the CE edition of this game only to realize that it was unplayable. I tried again later with an early version of the CP but the game still crashed all 1-3 hours (sometimes more). I also started to free all the cities right from the start so at some point all orcs that saw me attacked, what made the game again unplayable for me. Now I was finally able to finish it and while it is still the weakest game from the original trilogy I still liked seeing all the locations & talking to all the chars. As already mentioned by others Gothic 1 & 2 are better. Gothic 1 gets a remake soon, which will hopefully be good... Gothic 2 looks amazing with the Gold Remaster mod. G3 still looks nice to me with the patches & mods, but if one is not a fan of the world & chars then there are probably better RPGs to play out there. I enjoyed playing it though.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

Game of Penetration

Ya gotta stick 'em with the pointy end, right? But ya can only do that if yours is big enough. If it is not big enough, then you can't penistrate them... 1st 25 hours of the game were terrible boring, but then I got Worthless Idiot as my navigator & was able to find some fun. But after ~70 hours only my OCD made me finish the game. The 1st one was better. 2/5 + 0,5 for graphic + 0,5 for WI = 3/5 Some design tipps: DO NOT TAKE AWAY PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS FROM PREVIOUS GAME! / Do not design boring chars / Terrible & superficial romance implementations are unnecessary! If you're new to POE play the 1st one, it is more fun.

Lands of Lore 3

Don't bother...

I like the game but it is full of bugs & hard to finish... You can get stuck & have to reload from earlier save game. Like already mentioned by others stuff vanishes. Multiple side quests cannot be completed correctly (at least in my playthrough). It did not age well unfortunately. If you want to experience the LOL story, watch a playthrough of the 1st game, then play the 2nd game & watch a playthrough of the 3rd game.

Aven Colony

Great little game

I had a lot of fun with this. It checked a lot of boxes I didn't know I had. And it has a better ending than Mass Effect ;-) Nice graphic, missions that teach you how to play the game, logic buildings and good overviews so you always know what to do.

Rebel Galaxy

Well done!

I really enjoyed this indie game. It is not on the same level with Freelancer or Privateer II, but those were AAA titles. For an indie game done by only 2 people it is a very impressive achievement and very entertaining! I used the following ships (hulls) and all where quite good: Barracuda in the first system (and also for 2/3 of the game), later the Minotaur and at the end the Blackgate. More important than the ship is the tech. Always level up to the next available Mk (1-6) in each new system. I always startet with Defense, then component engines and then weapons. Rest of components after that.

Hard West

Simple but not easy...

HW is a quite enjoyable turn based western shooter with supernatural elements. It is simpler than other games from this genre, but not too easy. You have 3 difficulty settings to adjust it to your level of skill. The main game offers several campaigns. Each campaign consists of a strategy map where you plan your next move and decide which location to go to next. Some locations just advance the story or offer stores to buy supplies and equiment, others lead to tactical encounters. The campaign-stories are not totally awesome but quite enjoyable. The setting is fresh and offers a nice break from the typical fantasy or sci-fi setting. With the main game and the DLC it will take around 20 hours to finish the game. I am not so found of the DLC though, it heavily recycles assets and has a mediocre story with annoying missions. I think it is only for hardcore fans. If you like games like Xcom, HOMM, Mordheim etc. you may give this indie game a try.

Dungeon Keeper™ 2

DK 2 - Still a lot of fun

This one is a classic and it is still a lot of fun. It now runs perfectly fine on Win 7 (Gog Version 2.0.0.32, Game Version 1.7). I played through all campaign missions on a Laptop and didn't encounter any crashes: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM, 4096MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M, Win 7
