Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

Really nice, really boring

It took me 20 hours to complete both original and DLC stories, collect all collectables that awards achievements and do 99% of side quests (i couldn't be bothered to push for 100% quests at that moment). Side quests are side quests - you forget about them and characters involved the moment you complete them. The problem is with main story line - it is told very uneven and after 20% of playthrough you know 95% of all relevant information and you are stuck with very little unknow for the rest of the game. NPC characters are fotgettable, even the main ones. Only Sylens stands tall among them, but when everyone else is so poorly developed all you need to stand out is a bit of written motivation behind your choices. Lets talk about robots. They are key selling point of the game, but also its biggest problem. There is no difference which robot you are fighting the routine is the same - hit week spots, dodge their attacks. Rince and repeat. The bigger they are the more time it will take and the arrows you will need. It gets boring after 30 minutes of gametime. But map is filled with robots so you will have to fight them. You can use traps - it will save some time, but you need time to set them on the ground while dodging incomming robot attacks. Humanoid enemies are way easier to kill. All in all combat is disapointing - either too easy or too tedious and too long. The fact that you need beefy computer to run it not in slideshow mode is another issue, but PC gamers should be used to poor console ports. Graphics are nice, but nothing we haven't seen on PC in other AAA games. All in all - quite a nice, short and boring game.
