The game has been enjoyable so far. The atmosphere is suitably bleak, especially at night. I have played primarily as a mage so far, dual wielding the basic fire spell mostly. The relationship between mana pool, regen and damage output is in a spot where you can take on a couple of opponents at once, but may need to kite a bit for mana regen when facing several opponents, or particularly resilient ones. I tried some summoning spells, but they didn't seem to do much. Given the fact that having a summon active stunts your mana regen I'd really expect the creature to at least contribute something to a fight. There are talents to improve summoning, but I don't expect them to help much... 0x2 is still 0. On to my nitpicky caveat. It's something I can probably get used to, but I really don't want to, due to how unintuitive it is. The game gives you 4 weapon sets that you can swap between on the fly. Each set has a slot for each hand. Some spells or weapons occupy one hand, and can be mixed together freely, others occupy both hands. The thing is, the slot for the left hand is on the right side. Left is on the Right. WHY?? Hand in hand with the above headscratcher, once we close the inventory and go into actual combat, the Left mouse button controls your characters Right hand. And the Right button controls the Left hand. This just doesn't make any sense to me at all. I know this game has been refered to as Indie Skyrim, and Skyrim had a similar setup (which you can bet I rebound asap) but the thing is, there is, at time of writing, no option to rebind the mouse buttons in this particular game. This is really the biggest thing I would like to see change. TLDR: Rebindable Mouse buttons and fixed summoning spells please.
