Best game of the original x-com series and even holds it's ground against the newer xcom-games. The controls are clunky, there is no handholding in the beginning and the art is horrible, but after you get over those, there is a heart of gold beating inside. The choices feel meaningful, the research tree offers new and interesting things and the tactical combat actually needs some cautiousness. Tactical combat can be turn-based or real-time, which both offer their own advantages and disadvantages and you can choose the mode for each mission.
