Feels like the AAA equivalent to Hello Games' No Man's Sky. So much potential and a lot of hype for something that has come up a bit flat and empty. The world is huge but lifeless, NPCs are rarely worth stopping to see. There is very little immersive to do in this world, all shops just open up to a little menu rather than visualising it the way games such as Red Dead 2 has done. For those that are fans of Deus Ex this game takes a lot of inspiration - just not where it counts. Stealth is fine however there are very limited passive options, most stealth based perks are lethal and some annoying bugs that can cause carried NPCs to die upon placing them down. Driving does not feel great, cars just do not turn well at all and get stuck a lot. Motorbikes are better but can still get stuck on things just as easy. AI in the game is almost non present. Crowds act like a hive mind, cars on the road just go and stop. Want to commit crimes - forget about it, there is no wanted system. Police spawn behind the player no matter where you are. Crimes are reported without witnesses. Gunplay works, it's just fine. If on a controller I recommend changing the camera the controls as they have added a ramp up that feels very unnatural. Enemies tend to be bullet sponges, it makes sense as everyone is half chrome. It's hard to ignore what the game lacks and all the things CDPR spoke about in interviews, a game that was always too good to be true. The story from what I've played so far has been good, side missions have had some nice surprises but I couldn't recommend this game as it stands. Wait and see if things are improved in the coming months.
