Subjective Review It certainly is a gripping story. The voice actors range from fair to very well done. I have no idea why the game is designed for you to click on a response in a conversation when there is only one choice. Perhaps they feel that clicking on the one choice makes you feel like you're interacting. To me it was just annoying. When there's only one choice just let the conversation continue. I felt like I was in a "Pavlog Dog" experiment. With that aside, this is the direction I hope all point and click adventures go. Nice graphics, heavy on story. Not much to do however other than walk around and click on objects. My guess is it's because this is just a prologue.

Subjective Review Made it all the way to the third area. Decided to change the volume in settings and after doing so upon returning to the game all my progress had been erased. That is a serious bug/issue when it comes to a collectathon game such as this. I'm not going to go over the same levels, find the same green "sick" fish, find the same yellow items, find the same hidden treasures, fight the same sharks, destroy the same nettings or deep sea "garbage" all over again. How can a game developer have such a bug in the game and not fix it? Atrocious.

Subjective Review Took me a lot longer than most to finally win this game. I think I can honestly say the wonky control scheme slowed me down. Even so, this game never stopped being fun. The FMV acting is cheesy most of the time. I was glad to bring an end to the character at the end. Her acting was terrible. However, it all just adds to the charm. One of the first games of its time to have an environment that you could destroy and hurt the enemy while doing so. Hit the F1 key at any time during the game for an explanation of the controls. Once I grew accustomed to how I wanted to play (mostly used the mouse) it was a lot of fun. As a fairly long game (at least for me) every time I came back to it I had to relearn the controls. Still, it was worth it!

My total playtime, both Sin and Wages of Sin together, was just over 42 hours. Wages of Sin score is 5 of 5. Subjective Review Certain games are just fun. You love returning to them. To me, this is one of those games. I agree with Kabal_Valentine, this game should be "remade' or "remastered". You don't have to know a bunch of combos, you don't have to hold down button B while pressing a Bumper and then sliding a thumb on to button A while simultaneously pushing the right and left triggers matching the on screen hits. It's just a great story, wrapped around some intricately designed levels, that are just a joy to first-person-shoot your way through. The lighting for me was a little dark at times, even though I had the brightness setting at max. The ladders are infuriating to climb, but easy to fall off of, taking a bit of health away each time. If your health is extremely low, which quite often mine was, these falls can quickly do you in. But the developers/creators of this game, had just the right formula. I'd tag it as a must-play, but to truly enjoy this on my system, it took a bit of downloading shader mods and tinkering with settings. If it ran perfect "right out of the box" then maybe, but as it is, not quite. Having Wages of Sin as part of this package was a welcome bonus. This game is Golden. Pure Gold. Sin Gold.

Objective Review Took me about 17 hours to win. 6 of 5 must play. 5 of 5 great story great gameplay. 4 of 5 great story average gameplay. 3 of 5 average story great gameplay. 2 of 5 play only if it's your favorite genre. 1 of 5 play if you have nothing better to do. 0 of 5 play if you're a masochist -1 of 5 avoid Sanitarium score is 4 of 5. Subjective Review The people who make up these stories must be a bit looney themselves. I'm not crazy, yet, but games with stories like this, and a couple more Cthulhu titles, and I might see myself picking my marbles up off of the floor. Getting to the end of this one was enjoyable. Not something I'd get all crazy about, pun intended, but something worth seeing through to the end. The puzzles are all "sensible" for the most part. The walking in a straight line using the mouse (which I totally used) can be zaney, and probably tacked on a couple extra hours of playtime because of it. Sometimes just taking a step in the right direction can be frustrating. However, any frustration is short-lived as you never die, and it never sets you back to a point that makes you start hating any difficult sequence. Just save lots when the game requires you to walk in different directions while avoiding "killer" obstacles. I'll end it with that as I'm getting tired typing with only one hand...it was all I could manage to slip out of this straitjacket.

Subjective Review Yes I did finish this game, and yes there are parts that really shine, in spite of its age. But man oh man, it was extremely cumbersome at times. Make sure you save a game before dialogue choices, and title it so you know where you were at in the story, then continue play. So many times I had to retry parts because I chose the wrong answers to the NPC conversations, which resulted in a dead-end, but I didn't know. It was only when I finally got bored walking around I suspected something. So if like I did, you find yourself wandering and wondering why the story is not proceeding, go back to that "save" and answer differently. Then take a walk with your character to every part of the town, and see if something has changed to progress the story. If not, go back and try a different answer. Also, if you open a drawer, or chest, whatever, move your character until you see the dotted "view line". I opened a chest, but the view line didn't appear, so I thought the chest was empty. Went awalkin' and couldn't figure out where some items were. Yep, they were back in that chest, but because the "view line" didn't appear, they remained there, unbeknownst to me. It was simply by accident that I returned to my room and found them. Oh, and there are parts where you better "save" as soon as you enter each room, or each branching cave, which sometimes will be every few minutes. I'd advise usage of the keyboard commands instead of the mouse for the whole game. So if you want a very serious challenge that at times is different than most, I whole-heartedly encourage you to give this one a go.

Bad move. You need magic in order to beat some of the baddies. Made it close to the final confrontation, ran into, I think they were steel golems, watched my entire army get routed. This is one of those games where the gameplay is the story. In other words, each person will make their own as the building/battles play out. It's fun! I was pleasantly surprised. I would advise you play a short game at the start, one you don't intend to continue, just to familiarize yourself with all the mechanics. Get into a battle early so you can learn how to move your "troops" about. If you follow my advice, I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy this. Almost, because, well, games are subjective. I never found it tedious. There's also something about building armies that you have no input over when they go to battle. Something I personally like. Gives me more of a feeling of being a commander and either celebrating a victory (that you had no part in) or burying the dead (that was all your fault).

Subjective Review Lots of story, lots of puzzles. The puzzles are as crazy as the story. Not that they're overly hard, just that they're crazy, kind of. The entire game was crazy. The entire game was fun. It was crazy fun. I found the story to be waayy out there, but was suitable for the characters you play as and interact with. So many different graphical styles ingame, which again, matches the characters and the story. I was victorious, but kinda not victorious, which again, matches the story and the characters involved. One thing I noticed, this game had my fans almost lifting my PC off the desktop, which again, kinda fits with the story and the characters. Well done, sort of, which again... by now you must get the picture. You should know, it does finish, but also continues... which again...

Subjective Review Winning this game took everything I had. The Final Battle took A LOT of strategizing, and many, MANY attempts, but as always, the harder the battle the sweeter the victory. If a tough RPG is your kind of game, you won't be disappointed. A minor complaint; having the text boxes cover the screen was annoying. The graphical display is great! Why cover it up? I love the final achievement; "You have completely and utterly finished the game" or something to that effect. Very polished, no bugs, no crashes. An epic! Like I stated though, it is not for the feint-hearted, if you would like to finish it to the end. But if you manage to, you'll be glad you began the journey. And a journey it is!

Subjective Review I would really enjoy this game with better controls. I got pretty far but eventually gave in to the horrible game mechanics. The mystery/exploration/fighting fun parts of the game slowly vanished with each painful step until I finally said, "No more..."
