Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

I picked up Baldur's Gate 3 early access from GOG based on their 30 day return policy a week prior to the game being released. I thought that it was a great game and it is. However, the installation issue with the game freezing at 98% started to leave a bad user experience. After miraculously waiting 2 days for installation to finish, the game installted, I can honestly say that the game is fun. After less than 2 weeks of playing the game, the GOG version of the game started to crash unexpectatly and after one too many crashes, the game refused to even launch. I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall it with the same installation issue that I mentioned above. At this poin, I requested a refund for this game and purchased the game via Steam. The Steam installation took less than 20 minutes and I have not had a single issue. To add injury to insult, the GOG team responded to me by informing me that they were not going to refund me for the game since I had played 98 hours. I guess that the 30 day refund policy is only good on paper and they reserve the right to refuse refunds. I guess that they did not take into account that to date, the GOG version of the game has installation issue. Coupled with random crashes and freezes of the GOG version of Baldur's Gate 3, I am out $80 CAD. If you are thinking of purchasing this game via GOG, I would suggest looking at other options for the game purchase.
