Silksong had a lot of expectations leading up to its release, especially due to the 7 year buildup. It was expected to be a masterpiece due to Hollow Knight's status as such and its devlopement time. These are impossible and unrealistic standards. Yet somehow it met them. This game excels as a metroidvania and a sequel to Hollow Knight. Both platforming and combat are challenging (We'll get to that) yet rewarding, exploration feels satisfying and the artwork and music deserve to put in Museums and studied. As someone who thinks Hollow Knight is my second favourite game of all time I had moderate expectations of Team Cherry's new work and it met them all. Some people have complained that the game is too hard due to a prevelance of double damage, however this is offset by the game's new approach to healing and I believe it to offer a very challenging but difficult experience. This game is not for the faint of heart but those who persevere are in for one of the best end to end gaming experiences imaginable, especially if striving for true ending and 100%. Team Cherry have, in my opinion, outdone the work they did on Hollow Knight and have set a new bar for Indie Games, Metroidvanias and not to mention at such a low price point. They should be commended and receive all the praise that is rightfully coming to them. I cannot recommned this game enough, it is a 10/10 mustplay for all fans of metroidvanias, platformers, soulslikes and cute little bugs. Thank you Team Cherry I can't wait to see what you make next, see you on the road ahead.
