Eador: Genesis

Eador series

For those wondering whether to pick up Eador: Master of Worlds on Steam or this one (Genesis): it's the exact same game, but MoW has a (significant!) graphics update. The gameplay, the units, the characters, the "campaign", the skills and even the dialogues are identical. Eador: Master of Worlds looks much, much better, but it has a few bugs (occasional crash on load, but also a gamebreaking bug where you lose any combat you start in a turn where an enemy hero attacked one of your NPC-defended territories and wins). The MoW UI is very similar and a bit more intuitive. There are a few UI decisions in Genesis that I prefer, but both are quite good. MoW doesn't run very smoothly on older systems, even though none of it should be very demanding. Genesis is a much older game and turns are pretty much instant. Summary: if you're looking to pick up either, it all boils down to graphics over performance. If you have an older computer or a love for oldschool graphics, go for Gensis. If you like polished graphics and don't mind spending a few extra bucks, then Master of Worlds is your game. If you're doubting whether this game is something for you, read the other reviews. At time of writing, there's a deal and this can be bought for $2.39 and I honestly can't think of a single reason not to pick this up. Solid game, may get repetitive, but you'll definitely get a few hours of fun out of it!
