For a debut title it has it's flaws. It is very much a classic Rogue-lite, where you lose most of your things upon death. The combat is quite nice, however. As you can string together custom combos. A lot of love was put into the character design and animation. The character is by far the highlight of the game. It can also be customized ever so slightlu. The audio is another highlight of the game. The music is nice and most of the attacks have nice and impactful sounds. As for the negatives.. Since the levels are procedurally generated, you can sometimes get stuck in certain areas and the character has a very jittery animation when on the wall. The bosses are alright and ramp up in difficulty at the 50% health mark. When it comes to progression you will have to play the same levels multiple times so your mileage may vary. You will have to have quite a high tolerance for grinding if you want to get the most out of the game but for short bursts of play it works well. I would not recommend longer sessions, as the levels can become very repetitive. Still, for a first time effort it is not bad. At a deep discount I could see it offering at least a modicum of entertainment. I look forward to playing the sequel at some point.
