There is so much slowdown and lag happening constantly, even with barely anything happening on the screen. If you try to jump and shoot downward with a machinegun it will lag for like half a second, even with no enemies on the screen, and the framerate will drop to half. This is completely unacceptable for a game running on hardware with 21 years of advancements over its original version.
