The game in a nutshell: 1. Grid-style movement as in Vaporum during 'dungeon exploration'. 2. Futuristic glowing armor like X-COM 2. And a 'strategic' game layer with research, upgrades and recruitments. 3. Strategic, turn based combat. 4. Aiming at body parts like in Phoenix Point. Good points: + The music fits the atmosphere and is not too obstrusive. + Relatively good controller support + It's possble to mute the personal drone Bad points: - The 'red-haired' robot moves all the time and make heavy breathing animations. Why? - It uses first person view in dungeon exploration AND combat although one controls an entire team of 3. The team can only move 'as one', although all enemy critter can move separately doing stuff like splitting up and flanking. - I can never see my team during combat, nor when moving in the dungeon. All the shiny suites are just eye candy on the strategic layer. - The high frequency blabbering of the personal little drone during exploration is very disturbing, highly unnerving and close to being outright obnoxious.

The music, art and general gameplay loop are good and interesting. However, there's too few characters and too few maps/chapters. If it is a rogue-like, why can't there be more randomly picked and generated biomes? I also would have liked if there was an option to change the secondary character at the start of every map. But there's one thing i find problematic: Drawing the maps and using drawing tools in general is inconsistent in controls, behavior and presentation, at least when playing with an xbox controller. 1. The regular brush is used by holding down Y for 2 seconds, after which the drawing will be considered as 'confirmed'. During that time, the impacted area is highlighted and the number of none-blocked newly painted tiles is shown. If i just want to see this number to find a better place, i always have to just shortly 'tap' the button and be quick about reading the 'blinking' number, otherwise it will just quickly be drawn... 2. ...however, when the 'star-something' brush upgrade is active that allows to paint anywhere on the map, there will be no number when just tapping. The drawing shape and number will only appear after holding down the Y button long enough to confirm the drawing. Then i have to actually select the target area and confirm with X. 3. Using inks works similar to 2., expect that one first has to press X, then select the ink from the inventory and press X to confirm that selection to get to the actual tile selection mode. Why can't the regular brush also just use a "select, review then confirm" control flow like everything else?

Game Version: 1.3.5.1517.1645 I want to like this game, but it is very unstable. I had frequent crashes with the linux version on area transitions. 1. Leaving the big city back to junktown was close to impossible, 9/10 tries it crashes on the loading screen of junktown. The only way to get out of the town was through by a detour through the sewers. 2. When leaving to the world map with Ursula, crashes happen frequently as well. I had to first leave on foot, then go back to pick up ursula, or the game would crash to desktop in some situations. Because of this i've made it a habit to quick-save on every corner, always waiting in fear of the next crash. 3. I can't finish the game. Area transition to Concord - Landing Pad crashed on 17% every single time. No workarounds helped. This issue has been reported on reddit 2 years ago already and even was acknowledged, yet it still is there. As cool as the game would be otherwise, given its terribly unstable state on linux it's a "don't buy" from me.
