Double Dragon Trilogy

It's just not the same.

What you need to realize before buying this is that you're not actually buying the original games. You're buying rewritten versions with graphics filtering (aka blur) and a modern soundtrack enabled by default, as well as a modern UI while in the game itself. You can disable the filtering (which is the first thing I did since it looks terrible), and you can tell it to use more traditional sounds, but the modern UI is there to stay and there's no configuration option to make the game appear 100% genuine. I'm assuming that this is because they used filtered graphics by default, and using blurred pixel art for text would have probably looked bad. Though to be completely honest, the UI they used is just not very attractive, either. Nor is the entire menu system used to navigate the game you want to play or do the configuration, for that matter. It feels very quickly put together, complete with a somewhat annoying sound effect as you highlight literally every object in the UI. You'll probably also want to use a controller, because the default keyboard keys feel very clunky to use, particularly since there are three buttons. If you have to use the keyboard, I'd suggest at least remapping them to WASD to move and JKL for punch/kick/jump. But with all of this in mind, knowing it's not actually the original, I just couldn't have fun with it. I figured this was going to be some kind of emulator package, not a rewrite, and a mediocre rewrite at that. I feel that the description should be a bit more clear about what people are getting, because it specifically says that you're getting the "three installments of the beloved arcade series". The arcade series is indeed beloved, and that's why I feel that you should experience it the way it was meant to be, which I'm afraid you won't get from this package.
