The Original Strife: Veteran Edition

great potential, held back by gameplay

Strife tries to be an immersive sim with an interesting story, but with the DOOM engine makes every enviroment look the same mesh of ugly underground sewers and abstract industrial areas. The whole experiance is mostly running in circles trying to find the exit to the next level long after all the enemies were killed.

PowerSlave Exhumed

Somewhere between Killing Time and Doom

"baby's first metroidvainia" along with aura of action packed machinegun toting Egyptian adventure. All elements work fine enough, but the ending feels anticlimatic and rushed.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

frustratingly just beneath perfection

They have the music of Mick Gordon, BUT it's mixed so terribly that you can barely hear it (not to mention the god awful twisted sister cover they decided to go with as final note), The writing is beatifully written, BUT they had to include pointless poop and sex jokes. Really the only thing consistant in quality is the gameplay which is more or less the same as New Order.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

cartoony fun

more balance between stealth and action by giving the player a surplus of ammo and health. A story that feels like straight out of 1940's captain america comic and proably the best song in the credits

Killing Time (Classic)

got this just months before the remaster

It's not a bad game, and this port isn't broken or unplayble. But growing up with 3DO version with better FMVs and audio kinda makes this the weakest version of the bunch. That said I'll proably get the remastered version sometime soon.
