When you play a game from early on in a series that's still popular today, you expect things to look different. Aesthetics, brand identities, artstyles, they tend to develop over time. But that's the thing I find so fascinating about fallout. It's so remarkably consistent. The environments, the UI, the mechanics, the sound design. There are so many things core to the fallout experience here that I would have guessed were later additions to the series. Yes, the controls will take some getting used to (press f1 to see a list of the hotkeys), but when you get a grip of the basic mechanics, you realize that this is the fallout you know and love, just from a top-down perspective.
