I already had problems playing this game with the Steam version but a guy wrote that the GOG version would run better. So I also got it on GOG but I experienced the same issue at the end of act 1. The screen becomes black and nothing happens anymore. Maybe it isn't compatible with Windows 10 so I have to give up on it. No recommendation from my side.
Because of the good reviews I got both Dungeon Keeper games during the sale. After some time spent with the first Dungeon Keeper I must admit that I am a bit dissapointed. You can't change the music volume and even with high res graphics the game doesn't look that great. Besides it becomes very repetitive and I found it boring and not much fun so I wouldn't buy it again. Bad thing I also bought part 2. At least I only had to spend about €4 so I didn't lose too much money. In my view there should be a playable demo for every game. This is sth I like about Steam where you can play a game on weekends for free and see if it matches your taste.
I didn't find it that great because in my opinion it was unfair sometimes. The way you kill enemies becomes repetitive because there aren't great finishing moves or combos. Also I had probs with those platforms in the tunnel levels and that made me quit that game since it got me too frustrated and I lost the fun. The controls are ok but using a gamepad like a 360 doesn't work despite the calibration. Last but not least I wouldn't buy it again and don't recommend it.
