Starbound

Great Game

Stars: 5 Reasons: - Story is amazing. - Mechanics are amazing. - Graphics are beautiful. - A lot of content to explore and do. - Point of End - Reason: Too Much Grinding Decrease in Stars: 1 Currently I have a Save where I'm trying to finish all the Collections and get all the unique weapons (and upgrade the ones I can), and armor/clothing. I will still probably come back and finish this later, but I just can't get into it anymore. At this point the game becomes much too grindy for my taste. This is sad for me because everything in the game before this point is fresh and beautiful. The reason it becomes grindy is because to find all those things, you have to explore planets. This would be totally fine, but the planets are just too similar for THIS MUCH exploring! It's an absolutely massive pool... but it's all in the shallow end. It becomes monotonous and halfway boring to explore them. As you can probably deduce, this severely hurts the longevity of the game after the final boss & the Vaults. Rather than keeping you interested in the game, YOU have to be motivated / "in the mood" to play it. Which again, is sad because there's a lot to collect! Increase Star Again if: a) you're fine with grinding, b) you're fine with stopping after doing the Vaults a few times. Solution: I don't think there is one really, not for this game anyway. Chucklefish would have to spend too much time and resources to make enough content to fix it, it just wouldn't be worth it from a game developers perspective considering the game is totally fine before the endgame.
