After a third attempt, taking over 5 years, I have finally managed to complete the main quest. Fetch quests and pointless bloat stand between the player and any significant progress. All of which have zero impact on the game itself, other then to extend your suffering another 20-30hrs. Novigrad will filter most casual gamers. Kaer morhen being the next. I had hoped that things (the plot) would be drawing to a close by this stage, but was forced to endure another 20 hours of dialogue, fast travel and catching up with characters I despised. As the title indicates, most players never bothered to finish the main quest and yet the reviews are plastered with 5 stars. A 4 star, here and there will mention the combat but if anyone's being at all honest with themselves, the real criticism is just getting started.
I waited a good while for a sale and even then I felt creeping buyers remorse. An overrated and utterly busted mess, resigned to the dust heap at the bottom of my gog library.
